Is English your first language?

I was wondering how many of our members were born Anglophones and how many spoke a different language first.

English is first, but I know basic Spanish and I am learning Russian (Russian heritage).

English is my first language, but I'm learning Canadian.

Swedish is my first language, English is my second.

I can understand Norwegian and Danish, since they are quite similar to Swedish.
I speak a little French and even less Italian.
I can get the gist of a text in simple German, and I might be able to explain how to get to the train station, but that's about it. :)

There is no option on the poll for me, I am bilingual!

English is my first language. I know very very little French (secondary school wasn't much use) and I know hello and goodbye in Spanish if that counts. :p

Polish is my first language,i can understand Czech and Slovakia languages cause they are quiet similar.I was never learning English but i am using it bettter than German(i was learning it few years) so b3w4re of 3nglish 3vil p0w3r ;)

My native language is norwegian and english is second. I also know some German (Not much :p, so don't test me Ingo. ;)).
As mentioned above we Scandinavians (Sweden, Denmark and Norway) understands each other.

I speak mostly english.

Je parle français. (I also speak French).

Tha beagan Gàidhlig agam. (I speak a little Gaelic).'




(I've also picked up a little Japanese from my girlfriend -- although she's originally english, also.)

In what two languages?

English is certainly my first language, and my best, but I also know a little bit of Latin and a little bit of Spanish.

Hola, yo soy ingles, pero hablo Espanol y je peux parler un petit peux de francais. Obviously, my Spanish is better than my French and my English is second to none! Fie, a curse upon all those lazy brits who expect everyone to speaka de Eengleesh.

For me it goes like Spanish, English, Russian. I miss the days when Russian was my primary language, but oh well... it happens. I'm trying to learn some Japanese as well.
