<a href="somelink.htm" target="_top" onmouseover="window.status=CLICK ON THIS LINK!';return true;" onmouseout="window.status='';return true;">texttexttexttext</a>
or maybe some other way to completely hide it?
I found onFocus, wich is great.....
Why is it so important that the links direction is hidden? In most circumstances when I see someone trying to hide the location of the link they are either:
1) Trying to send me somewhere I don't want to go or they are
2) Lying to me about where the link is really pointing.
Both of which don't make me happy.
Irregardless, one can easily find out where the link points to.
Anyway, just curious.
I know that, and I don't even like to use that method, but I use them to hide famous sponsor's links wich the visitor will never click on if they see the status bar.
Believe me I abitually don't use this kind of links to fool the visitor, but actually I need some fast money and this surely helps a bit. Thats hegoistic I know, but I need that....
Good luck. I know there are a lot of people like me, who won't click through a link if they can't see where they are going. Because 9.9 times out of 10, it's going to take me to some sort of advertisement.
These kind of links helps fooling people like you but that doesn't have enough experience to understand if the link is hided.
