i need a good menu system that will work withing the follownig guidelines:
1. cross browser compat
2. will not refresh the entire page
3. will work in a non-frames environment.
4. will go to 4 levels deep
5. easily cutomized.
I'm on an NT box without php, or mysql.
if you have something i'd appreciate an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org
try searching Dynamic Drive
One of the best menu systems I have seen can be found at:
It is a dhtml system that builds your dHTML menu for you on the fly.
Great... anyone got anything else?
They usually have many good ones.
hiermenus doesn't work in Netscape 6(as far as I know). I have one that works in them all but will take a few adjustments to add sublayers. Nothing that the basic html guru couldn't handle though. If you are interested in it drop me an email at email@example.com
Here's one that works very well, is very easy to configure, and works on NN4 IE4+ NS6. Try it
New to DHTML Lab:
 HierMenus Go Forth, XII:
Version 4.0.5 - The Complete Script (Full-Window) NN4 IE4+ NS6
More improvements. The IE4 and IE5Mac item vertical spacing problem
is addressed. Faster NS4 menu creation. Version 4.0.5 for full window
use presented as-is for die-hard HM enthusiasts.
yup...I already posted that one...it's good though
Hi Creole; I did see your post; but, the link you provided takes one to Hierarchical Menus Version 3.x and I was just offering that there is newer versions like version 4.0.5 which works on NN4 IE4+ NS6 at http://www.webreference.com/dhtml/. Just trying to help. Thanks.
oh...sorry bout that...now who's not paying attention...
Did you take a look here:
It's easily understandable and you can then customize it.
wow...and it's written by our very own Kevin Yank.
Kevin's menu only has 1 sub-level...... It would require intense re-writing of the code to make it go to 4 levels.
Yea that's what i figured after looking at it...
I tried the one at: http://www.webreference.com/
but the script wouldn't let me copy it to a clipboard :(
jonese...you have to copy several chunks from that code to get the whole thing. It is in like 5 or 6 pieces.
