I like the idea of mono better.

I downloaded that but dont actually know what exactly it is about (mono).

ASP.NET v2 looks very, very nice. If they actually produce on the promise not to step all over your html, life will be good.

Mono replicates most of the functionality of .net 1.0, so is a bit behind the curve.

The main benefit of using Mono is to be able to program in C#. That's cool. Then you realize that Java is the same thing, anyway.

The good thing with mono is that you can run it on Linux/Mac/Windows, and not just Windows :)
And yes: it's a lot like java, but has a lot more bindings that java could even dream about!
