I am going to issue a press release for my new web site. Only thing is I really am unsure of a couple of things.
1) What is the best way to send them out ? To a place where you submit once and they mail them out or to each place that you believe should get a copy (may involve a lot of homework).
2) Should I just 'announce' the site or should I announce the special offer that I have going on at the current time ? Perhaps a mixture of both ? The offer that I have is currently only good until the end of December, so should I make it longer ? How long does it take for the releases to run their course ?
If any site owners have issued releases before and could offer any advice it would be great ! How much of a traffic increase is possible from them as well ?
Whatever you do, make a flashy headline and make sure to include the five W's in the beginning.
Probably better to send them out individually to whom ever you think should have it. There's probably a better chance of the press release being seen that way.
And make sure the thing is well written with a great headline and all the important info up front, just like M. James said. Be sure to "show 'em the pony", i.e. make the reader know what the benefit is.
Thanks so far !
Do you think it would be okay to actually send them to the individual companies that I am trying to reach ?
I just want to inform you that Press Releases I sent made a great number of users. Send them to everyone who can publish them. The "right" eyes will see it.
All the Best,
The Press Release has been sent to company who is sending them out should be done in the next couple of days ! Hopefully it will bring great results !
