I am currently adding a blog to my website. My website is static, just html/css.
My question is do I use a platform like wordpress for the website or do I just use my website as is and just add the blog with pages etc.
What the pro's and cons of just using your website. If I use wordpress I would need to get the theme consistent to what I have.
also is there any article I can read about which is better?

Wordpress is incredible. Be that as it may it might be unpredictable frequently. Most individuals have no clue how to have a "half and half" blog/static webpage.

I think if you can swing it you should add Wordpress to your static site. The only drawback I see is that when you make structural changes that apply to all pages of the site, you would also have to remember to do it to the WP part as well.
The plus is that Wordpress is traditionally a blogging platform so its super easy to add content. I’m not sure how you add content to your site now but if it’s a static site with not backend for uploading content, its probably a tedious process like programming.
