But with CTR less than 1% it's also difficult to get something. I once heard that CPM campaign usually has high CTR banners while CPC campaign has low CTR banners. I'm not saying that joining pay-per-lead/sale will make you a millionaire (I wish :)), but if you can find ones that really match the content then it's more likely people will click and join the affiliate. It's just like pay-per-click search engine that lets you fill in few words. Again, as I said in another post, I don't have much experience in this. Just my observation from several message boards.
Actually, I disagree with your point about the affiliate programs like CJ.com. It's so tempting to signup with a handful of affiliate programs at first and expect the money to come pouring it, but it won't. You'd be better off at first with CPC ads than affiliate program ads.
