Here is what our customers are saying about this product.

"Yet again another easy to understand sitepoint book, written it seems just for me. I really enjoy the style of infomation delivery from all of the sitepoint books and this one did not fail to make it easy to learn XML. Had I brought the same book from O'reily I would still be trying to understand the first chapter, or Wrox I would generally be getting annoyed with the author and the amount of time spent extracting the information from the text.

"So thanks to this book I'm now completely cool with XML, DTD's, XSLT, XPATH but not quite sure of XSD.

"The CMS is useful and adaptable. The code is up to date using good accessible html. A great book, and code archive."

"Another excellent resource from SitePoint. The layout is sensible, and the content easy to digest. Having it in both paper and electronic format is very useful, as I can copy examples and modify them to my own purposes."

Dominic Hayes 4.5 stars, 17 Mar 2008

"Easiest purchase we have ever made.
The publication has been very informative, with easy to follow examples.
The writting sujests expanding on what is achievable, and it is clear that XML, Data sets, with PHP are still very untried, we were able to expand what we gained through this publication to provide an RSS feed senario without the need for linking and online source."

Bruce Dumesny 4.5 stars, 14 Mar 2008

"Very good and useful book. I expected such a book for such a long time.
Thank you."

Manon Ghiurco 5 stars, 14 Jan 2008

"I haven't finished reading it yet but so far it is a good book with clear, concise information written in a casual sort of laid-back style. Not too techie!"

Graham Davies 4 stars, 13 Dec 2007

"Detailed, but not intimidating. Exactly at my current skill level."

Ian Marshall 5 stars, 30 Nov 2007

"The information and code examples are great! Personally, I am looking for a book to use with my students and although the examples are very good, it does not contain any exercises for reinforcement. It would be a good supplemental text, but I hope that someone publishes a textbox for php and xml applications."

"If this were to become a textbook with exercises and hands-on activities, I would love it!!!"

Diana Kokoska 4 stars, 25 Aug 2007

"Having skirted around XML for a few years now mainly developing with PHP, this book has been a great help in getting to grips with starting full XML projects. A book that can be used while coding is always a help and this one fits the bill every time."

Rick Trotter 4.5 stars, 2 Jul 2007

"This book is excellent in explaining the utility of XML. As an XML primer it is great, however I do find it biased towards XML and therefore a bit light on the PHP elements. This book is great if you have reasonable knowledge of php but little knowledge of how to apply XML.

"A key strength of the book is its organisation and presentation. I have some way to go before I will complete the exercises presented within the text, I rate this book as excellent."

Martin Deady 4.5 stars, 31 May 2007

"The first XML book I've read that doesn't make your eyes bleed. Finally someone has written a practical, approachable book on xml and php. If you are serious about getting into xml here is your first step, this book will take you through to well informed level, at which point those other eye bleeding books will suddenly come into focus. Absolute must buy."

Stuart Laverick 4 stars, 8 Feb 2007

"I am glad that I bought this book. My only request would be including examples that work using PHP4. My web hosting company does not intend to move to PHP5 for some time. I was able to use the examples, but had to modify them to PHP4 syntax."

Thomas Bishop 4 stars, 16 Jan 2007

"As the other books of Sitepoint explanations are simple and give good basics for "no nonsense xml-php" programming."

Alessandro Sacilotto 4 stars, 29 Nov 2006

"I'm standards-focused, but XML somehow always left me cold - until I saw Thomas' preview chapters on SitePoint. He introduces the technology without waffle, then shows how useful it can be with interesting examples. Thanks, SitePoint!"

Pete Wright 5 stars, 24 Nov 2006

"Another very good SitePoint Offering. Thomas Myer walk's the reader through some of the intricacies of php and allows them to fully grasp many concepts that are in common use today. Thanks Site Point!"

Doug Burt 3.5 stars, 29 Oct 2006

"I haven't made it all the way through this book yet, but it's a great blend of solid tech and light humor - very readable. I'm also learning PHP so it's very helpful to see how someone else works a problem."
