"Well Kevin you have done it again only better. I thought Vol.3 was as good as it could get but this has improved on that. The screen prints with arrows showing what to click on were a real help to me. Keep up the good work.
One critisism though ;-( Is there some way you can put on this site something to show when a URL or the filename changes as in PHP has changed from 5.2 to 5.3.
Still I would recommend this to anyone who wants to learn PHP/MySQL from the ground up."

"The install directions for MySQL on Mac don't work. Someone on your Forum helped me. Now the PHP install fails. I have a feeling if I ever get it to work, everything will be fine, but I haven't gotten there yet. A friend of mine HIGHLY recommended this book, so I hope he will be able to help. Maybe you guys can find someone who knows our platform that can sort out the instructions? That would be cool."

"Most of the information in this book is VERY well presented, easy to understand, and accurate. I do have one problem, which is that the directions for doing the install of PHP and mySQL on Mac OS X 10.5 do not work. Everything in the book is fine for Mac OS X 10.4 (and this is where I went through the training in the book, and learned ALOT), but needs to be updated for 10.5. I have posted to the SitePoint blog, and Kevin Yank almost immediately promised to look into the problem. No answer yet, for a couple weeks now, but this may not be an easy problem to fix. My low rating is based not on what the book tells you about building your own database-driven website, but on the fact that the install instructions in the book do not work for the OS I am using."
