"Very useful when you're planning on outsourcing large jobs, or if you've already been outsourcing work, but are looking for ways to make the process more efficient. It also helps you weed out the pros from the rest."

"I could have saved myself a bit over $10,000 and 2 years if I had access to your book earlier. References to find programmers seem incomplete. However what you did have, I had no knowledge of. For example on google search Freelance PHP MySQL Programmers and you'll find resources that can be listed in your book. Thanks - God's Peace Be With You Always"

"This is a *must* have if you ever thought of outsourcing ANYTHING!"

Danny Froberg 5 stars, 12 Sep 2007

"Very helpful. Not only an excellent guide for companies outsoucing web projects, but also for web development companies looking to win the business.

"The book has helped us organise how we present our web services to clients."

Jeremy Dixson 4 stars, 2 Aug 2007

"I have a postgraduate degree in general Management and Marketing, this resource is perfect as it is market specific. Some of the language could do with updating, but overall a resource that any serious Web Designer/Manager should have to hand."

Ann Claire S Kay 5 stars, 30 Jul 2007

"After spending the last ten years on the web development industry, this book didn't expose any "revelations" about running a web development and hosting company that I didn't already know. However, I am beginning the process of training one of my daughters so she can take over my business after she's completed college - and this book, along with "The Web Design Business Kit" have been an incredible help in her learning process.

"As for outsourcing - we've been doing it for years - particularly on projects where we need the done fast. This book is very helpful if you are a small development firm that's been in business a short time. Outsourcing can help you grow your business exponentially."

John Delaney 3.5 stars, 29 Jul 2007

"I am quite disappointed with what I bought. I have been in the industry for a while. Within the couple hundred pages, I found only couple sections interesting. A few words for the trees, please have it printed in both sides and with smaller font."

"lot of research placed on web - very good book!"

"Excellent. I have learnt so much from this product. A must read for anyone considering outsourcing a project."

Kerri Bennett 5 stars, 24 Apr 2007

"This guide contains all the information you need to start a successful outsourcing business for the web. Written in an easy-to-understand, conversational style, the book is a quick read with tips that can be implemented immediately.

"In fact, my business partner and I put in our first RFP based on Hecker's advice a day after finishing the book. The entire bidding process went extremely smooth, and we closed with a vendor that has great pricing and long-term potential. We really felt in control the entire way!

"It's almost dangerous to have such a valuable source of information on the market for anyone with a small budget to start their own successful web business. Thanks Dave Hecker and SitePoint."

Bryan D Koch 4.5 stars, 9 Apr 2007

"Straight-forward, practical and valuable guidance. This is not an in-depth study, but rather a faster read that is full of helpful ideas and advice from someone who has traveled the path. I'm busy with work and life, so this is the type of to-the-point guide that is perfect for me. I have previously learned a couple of the presented lessons through my own experience, and wish instead that I had learned them from reading this ebook and avoided the cost (in terms of both dollars and stress) that came along with learning from personal experience. I like that there is emphasis on building good relationships, along with the more concrete and technical points. Thanks, Dave, for sharing your experience and knowledge."

Eddie Monroe 5 stars, 23 Jan 2007

"The language in Dave Hecker's 6 Steps is concise and clear. The flow of topics is logical and appropriate.

"I found the underlying theme of promoting realistic expectations on the part of both the client and vendor invaluable. As such, I'd recommend this book not only to those seeking to outsource web projects, but to vendors as well."

Brian Case 5 stars, 4 Jan 2007

"This is my second Site Point book. The first was Brandon Sinclair's "Web Business Design Kit" which was incredible and made it possible for me to leave my job and continue to run a successful web company for three years now.

"I was a little disappointed in this book. It really did not cover a lot of detail, I think it's more of a beginner's guide to outsourcing. I would have like to see some project proposal templates in it and the like. However, it is only $29.95, and for those who have not used elance or guru.com then it's a good start to help you on your way."

Tom Lyons 3 stars, 2 Jan 2007

"Simple, useful, to the point : "Outsourcing Web projects" is another gem from Sitepoint... I bought all the sitepoint books and kits (except the ones about ASP and Flash)... Always the same high quality."
