"I haven't gotten my book yet, so not good this."

Nicolai Grćsdal 0.5 stars, 22 Jul 2011

"This is a great book - very readable. However, can I make a suggestion? When publishing, the corrections and typos it would be great if these could be downloaded (for ebook users) as annotations in the PDF, because you can't scribble notes in the margins!"

Graham Auty 4.5 stars, 26 May 2011

"Simply one of the best approaches for showing and explaining the potencial and usage of jQuery, no words for explaining the pleasure of reading it."

Frederic Yesid Peńa Sánchez 5 stars, 11 Feb 2011

"This book has saved my life! I sspecially love the "excerpt" indications, to avoid getting lost. JQuery is easy to understand thanks to this book. It's a must-have for your development library and you truly go from Novice to Ninja!"

Amanda Rodriguez 5 stars, 23 Sep 2010

"I've have been having BIG problems with the 'Animated Navigation' beginning page 64. Has anyone got this to work? Does any have an example of what this is supposed to look like?
The book seems pretty good so far, but the coding is a little disjointed, and online examples of the code working would be a bonus."

Matt Leigh 3.5 stars, 8 Sep 2010

"This book is an great source of information on jquery. I'm only a few chapters into it, but I'm already finding that my understanding of jquery has grown exponentially. Whether you're just starting with jquery or already have a good grasp of it, this book is an excellent choice.

"Unlike many books I've read on code, I don't find myself struggling through reading jquery: Novice to Ninja. Each chapter is well organized and easy to understand. I don't feel talked down to or left behind.

"The practical examples are great as well. Even just reading this book, I feel as if I'm gaining experience through practically using the code.

"I have already recommended this book to three people and will definitely be recommending it again!"

Brannon Sherry 5 stars, 3 Aug 2010

"I've only started chapter 4 and have already used two variations of solutions from the book for a client."

Rich Mariner 5 stars, 30 Jul 2010

"Fabulous book. I'm not all the way through yet but this so far is one of the most helpful books I have."

Chris B 5 stars, 6 Jul 2010

"This is the book for you if you want to transform a web site with dynamic responses and customizations. I recommend it highly."

Bernard Farrell 5 stars, 8 Apr 2010

"I'm late to the party in terms of Javascript, but hey - you can't avoid it any longer, and with JQuery on your toolbelt to handle the hard work and the cross-browser nightmares it's not so painful anymore."

S. J. Mahony 5 stars, 8 Apr 2010

"I really liked Sitepoint's "jQuery: Novice to Ninja". I wouldn't recommend it to someone completely unfamiliar with jQuery or JavaScript, but it's definitely perfect for someone wanting both a solid explanation of how to accomplish DOM manipulations and why the authors have chosen the current method for doing so."

Zachary Williams, 8 Apr 2010

"The best thing is because the code reads so naturally, it is practically self documenting. What used to take hundreds of lines of code with days of debugging written in a few hours (or in the case of examples you learn from the book, minutes).."

Nathan P. Toye 5 stars, 8 Apr 2010

"I have several jQuery books, but this is the one that truly helped me understand how everything works."

timazon "cybernaut", 6 Apr 2010

"I had high hopes for this book after reading the first chapter online. Unfortunately I was disappointed and found the book difficult to follow. The book does not introduce new concepts well, and it overuses the ! character to make points that are not exciting. For example this sentence:

"The JavaScript NOT (!) operator (the exclamation mark) inverts the Boolean value, so if the value was true it becomes false, and if it was false it becomes true!

"Now anyone programming for 1 month knows this. Yet other concepts or jQuery functions are introduced and then briefly explained or not explained at all as if somehow everyone just knows them.

"I really wanted to like this book. The more I read the more I came to realize I could have learned as much reading online articles."

Mike 2 stars, 30 Mar 2010

"I have struggled with Javascript for quite some time. It's amazing how jQuery will make my web designing easier. Now I don't have to write all the code and then debug it. I have purchased 8 books from Sitepoint and have been pleased with all of them."
