"This book is the best for learning Javascript -- don't look any further."

Kenneth Willes 5 stars, 19 Oct 2007

"I was a complete beginner to JavaScript and wanted an easy way to learn it. It is currently used as the textbook for a Scripting for the Web course I am taking and I can't think of a better way to teach the course. The book provides good examples of how to put the methods into practice. Keep up the good work guys!"

Isamar C. 5 stars, 15 Oct 2007

"This is a great book! I could go all over the world and never have anyone introduce core programming in teaching javascript. Since the fact is that real javascript code requires core programming, I'm glad you did so (and Wow, from the first chapter too).

"I have to admit I got a little confused on "when" to use the Core.js file, but then since there is so much more going on in the world of javascript libraries, i.e. I would like to get going with javascript and xml, like last week, again, I am happy I found this website!"

Ellsworth Cy Rochdale Taylor 4.5 stars, 12 Oct 2007

"So far, it kinda easy but as it goes it's hard following without more concrete examples of the HTML file type out."

Kemar Wedderburn 4.5 stars, 10 Oct 2007

"Actually I forgot that I purchased it...so this reminds me to read it! Looks good though!"

Rachel Maxim 5 stars, 28 Sep 2007

"So far I have found it very useful and the best Javascript book I have found so far."

Patrick Forman 4.5 stars, 18 Sep 2007

"I am still working through this book having bought two books on Javascript at the same time. I find this book very easy to follow as it deals with the practical application of Javascript in an ordered way with understandable examples."

David Grugeon 4 stars, 4 Sep 2007

"Review of Simply Javascript (Yanks & Adams).

"Well formatted and easy on the eye, encourages readers to continue studying the content.

"I was disappointed that you chose to use a proprietary method of invoking JS code (eg using your Core.start) which frankly just added a layer of confusion. I didn't want to learn how *you* had cleverly solved the problem of running JS code upon page load, I wanted to know how to do it long-hand, for myself. I had to eventually read the appendices far sooner that I really wanted to, to learn how you had done things.

"Excellent coverage of the IE quirks, as well as the fact that other browsers also have their idiosyncrasies.

"If you hadn't chosen to use your Core (and other) libraries to illustrate your JS examples I would have given you a higher score!"

Ralph Bacon 3.5 stars, 3 Sep 2007

"I never read a programming book like this, the humor of this guys (Kevin and Cameron), the illustrations and pictures, and the great content that covers one of the great programming languages of all time, join all the these things and you will have a great book called Simply JavaScript.

"Meanwhile other programming books are usually hard to read, this book actually makes the not so easy task to read and study a new programming language, a very pleasant reading and study.

"The real examples that this book covers, are very good and I think you can apply it to your real world projects and problems."

Robert Navas 5 stars, 28 Aug 2007

"Excellent book. Very clear. Easy to find what you are looking for."

Raanan Avidor 5 stars, 21 Aug 2007

"Great book for the Java virgin!"

John Harvey 5 stars, 21 Aug 2007

"Excellent book. I actually read the book from begining till the end in 2 days time !"

TK Chuah 5 stars, 10 Aug 2007

"English is not my mother's tunge so I'll do my best...

"I'll start with the bottom line - the book is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G.
it is so light (in a good way), funny, and most important - does it's job!

"Kevin & Cameron did a great job on this book, first of all credits to SitePoint that all of their books are colored, big fonts and illustrated. I didn't know how this meant until i got this book. I had some other javascript books by different companies which were huge, small fonts, looked like a dictionary - not a nice way to start learning a new language.
so thanks a lot!

"BTW: for the question "How likely would you be to buy from us again?"

"I already bought my third book from you - CSS Anthology. waitinf for it to arrive."

Uri Tzadikevitch 5 stars, 10 Aug 2007

"I have only managed to get a few pages into this book due to various time constraints.
What I have read so far has really helped me to understand more about ASP.NET and how to program in C# and VB.
I never thought that I would ever be able to learn either of these two languages in such a simple and easy way.
This book is a definate must have for any beginner looking to learn ASP.NET."

Matthew D Hann 5 stars, 8 Aug 2007

"Beautifuly compiled. Alittle hard to lay down though."
