"Another Kevin classic! Love the full colour printing, only wish all Sitepoint titles were as well"
, 24 Sep 2008 "while i realize this is an intro book, it seemed somehow caught between being truly basic, where the reader might be taught the basics of how to use the most fundamental of JS functions, and intermediate-to-advanced JS, where the reader would be introduced to libraries, Firebug, and OOP. i was especially disappointed to see EVERYTHING in the book use SitePoints own library... how can the beginning developer be expected to learn to run like the wind if they are not even taught to walk on their own?"
, 26 May 2008 "Great book! Just what I needed to augment my skills!"
, 16 May 2008 "As I'm a beginner, this book has been fantastic. Well written and laid out. I would recommend any time"
, 7 May 2008 "Kevin and Cameron did an excellent job here. Prior to reading this book I had no real idea of how to use JavaScript libraries and only limited experience with JavaScript itself. Now, after reading the book I am much more confident in my abilities to write, use and create my own JavaScript and JavaScript Libraries."
, 26 Mar 2008 "I bought the very first book SitePoint ever published - and a good many more since. These form an invaluable and a major part of my essential library. It's hard to compete against instantly available, on-line reference material, but SitePoint has managed it by consistently improving the visual appeal of their titles. And you can read them in bed ..."
, 6 Mar 2008 "Kevin Yank and Cameron Adams have compiled a great book here. In fact the best I have read on Javascript to date, teaching how to write well constructed simple object oriented solutions that work, and are flexible and easily maintainable.
"Something refreshingly new, in a world of crumby web snippets hanging together by a raggedy piece of string.
"It's breakdown of the different Libraries and Frameworks avaiable is also a great reference."
, 11 Feb 2008 "A good book. Lots of really well written practical examples and explanations of other 3rd party javascript libraries. Good knowledge of javascript quirks and all examples used a best practice methodology."
, 1 Jan 2008 "This book is perfect for JavaScript beginners. It makes complete sense and doesn't bore you out. The only disappointment I had from reading this book was that it required the Core JavaScript Library to smoothly follow along. Otherwise, magnificent!"
, 31 Dec 2007 "This book teaches what all colleges and universities should be teaching as a required course in web design and development. Very easy to read and very addictive."
, 27 Dec 2007 "I found the book clear and easy to understand."
, 18 Dec 2007 "Still making my way through the book, but so far so good. Yet another informative, helpful and well-presented SitePoint publication. Keep up the great work!"
, 3 Dec 2007 "It is very easy to copy javascript from others to use on your web site. However, if you learn the basics using Simply JavaScript, you can customize it to your needs and unleash the true power of JavaScript. Kevin Yank and Cameron Adams have done a wonderful job explaining JavaScript in layman's terms helping me incorporate JavaScript into my first web site, www.shopwithtrust.com"
, 15 Nov 2007 "Good book, easy to pick up javascript basics. Wouldn't have minded a sample drop down menu tutorial in addition.
"long delivery time to the UK but worth the wait for beginners."
, 9 Nov 2007 "This book is the best for learning Javascript -- don't look any further."
