"Great class! He explained the terminology and his examples were easy to follow. The code he provided helped to set up the HTML and get right into the style sheet. The suggestions for further learning were also helpful."

"Have not been able to work it into my busy schedule yet. Finished the Photoshop course and am starting the Dreamweaver course and then will get into this course. May be another month before I can fit it in. thank you"

Mahwish Bute 5 stars, 15 Sep 2012

"I wish I would have had this starting out. Way to snap the pieces together for beginners."

Ryan Jensen 5 stars, 14 Sep 2012

"I thought the book was a very good choice for beginners. I'd recommend this to a friend who wanted to learn how to build a web site.

"That being said, it's time to stop making the blanket recommendation to use XHTML. It would be just as easy to give a beginner an historical overview and a look ahead to HTML 5.

"The discussion could explain the advantages of XHTML, while recommending using either XHTML *or* a best practices HTML 4 strict (XHTML-like coding)."

William Clark 4.5 stars, 14 Sep 2012

"Good thorough review of the basics, presented in a clear and entertaining way. Doesn't go into much advanced stuff, a downside for me since that's what I was hoping to skip straight to, but perfectly fine for its intended audience."

Dave Aronson 4 stars, 13 Sep 2012

"So far so good. Seems to be easy to read and follow, does not put you to sleep."

Pamela Blake 4 stars, 13 Sep 2012

"Good so far. clear and yet with some depth."

Chris Robertson 4 stars, 13 Sep 2012

"Don't know what you're talking about."

Edwin Hughes 5 stars, 13 Sep 2012

"Awesome book! Very detailed and easy to follow. Thank you!"

Teri Temme 5 stars, 12 Sep 2012

"I am completely self taught and have except for the books and online classes I have taken from Site Point. I find your method of teaching easy to follow and affordable."

Barbara Cherry 5 stars, 23 Jul 2011

"I initially thought that my university library is a great way to save money by reading the books needed to design a website. But over time, I realised most of the books I read were wholly outdated, irrelevant or bug ridden. I wasted a lot of time, on forums figuring out how to get around bugs and all.

"Then I bought this book two days ago, from the christmas sale. I've read it already, it was an easy read. Most of the things I already knew, but I needed a formal approach to it.

"So far, I regret wasting a year and a half attempting to save money thinking all books were the same. I should have saved money by purchasing from sitepoint from the start.

"With the great read I've made, You guys have won me over. I'll be looking at buying Simply Ruby, Running Webserver...etc... at the sale.

"I should have realised I could have saved more money doing it this way."

Jimmy Ng 5 stars, 5 Dec 2009

"Excellent book. I did quite a lot of HTML and CSS programming some years ago, but then took a break for a few years. Now I've decided to start all over again but wanted to catch up with the latest standards and practices and "get it all right", which I probably never really have before. This book has been perfect for this, and I'll recommend it to anyone whether you're completely new to web design or just need to catch up with the latest stuff and correct some of your bad programming habits. The book is well written and structured also. Thanks!"
