"Thanks Shayne and Brandon! Your "Online Marketing Inside Out" is the most useful and practical guide I have found about Online Marketing! This a must have for anyone who plans to succeed at marketing their business online."
, 24 Aug 2009 "Great read! Thorough, up to date, spot on, thanks!"
, 9 Jul 2009 "HI
I really enjoyed your book, I thought it was well written and I learnt a lot (and I refer to it often). It is a great foundation, however I would've liked a little bit more detail and depth with possibly some more examples in some areas of the book, but overall it was comprehensive. I would highly recommend this book. Thanks, it's helped me a lot."
, 8 Jul 2009 "Finally, a book that is interesting, to-the-point and understandable. I'm excited to implement all of the great strategies outlined in the book and watch my business grow!"
, 8 Jul 2009 "Brandon and Shayne have really gone all out on this book. They cover all the basics of modern internet marketing, without getting into the one hit wonder marketing ideas. They techniques can be replicated on any site, and most likely throughout the coming years. This book is great for any site owner looking to drive more traffic to there site!
Buy it, keep it on your shelf, and reread it every time you create a new site!"
, 28 May 2009 "If you're wanting to learn PHP/MySQL from the ground up, this is certainly the way to do it. The book came highly recommended, and I now know why.
"Excellent layout, step-by-step instruction, and carefully crafted examples that really bring the points of the text home.
"If you're like me, you've looked at many books on this subject. I had great difficulty finding one that not only TAUGHT me how to use PHP, but did so with real-world examples AND attention to standards!
"I can't say this enough... buy it, you won't be disappointed!"
, 25 Jul 2009 "Well Kevin you have done it again only better. I thought Vol.3 was as good as it could get but this has improved on that. The screen prints with arrows showing what to click on were a real help to me. Keep up the good work.
One critisism though ;-( Is there some way you can put on this site something to show when a URL or the filename changes as in PHP has changed from 5.2 to 5.3.
Still I would recommend this to anyone who wants to learn PHP/MySQL from the ground up."
, 15 Jul 2009 "This book has been very useful to me. I come from a developer's perspective, so Elliot's book has guided me the way to build very sexy websites indeed. I constantly use it as a reference when designing, and it opened my eyes to the many different methods and practices that you use to create great design. My only complaint is I wish there was more! Great book, Elliot. :)"
, 29 Apr 2009 "Nice and clear approach of designing a website. Very useful links.
Loved the 'Destroy The Web 2.0 Look' link"
, 6 Apr 2009 "A really useful design book, with a refreshing take on design layout and good explanations on Grid layouts. The book has plenty of current good design examples and some useful url links to resources that any designer shouldn't be without. I've read the book from front to back, twice since it arrived 3 days ago.
A must have!"
, 3 Apr 2009 "I ordered this book the day it was released by SP.
"I trust everything that's released here, and this book is no exeption.
"You don't need to go to art school (even though I did), as described in the title. This book teaches you basic to advanced principles you'll need in TODAY'S world. Pick up a copy, it goes great with "The Art and Science of CSS", also another good read.
"Way to go sitepoint, keep up your sexyness, and I'll keep referring my contacts your way!"
, 26 Mar 2009 "I'm fortunate in the fact that I'm an artist, designer and programmer but I haven’t been able to organize these skills properly when working on my websites. Sexy Web Design helped me become more organized in my processes while still being able to utilize all three of my talents; actually more-so since I've read the book. I also loved all of the resources Elliot shares in his book and several of them will now be part of my daily "toolbox".This book is not for those wanting to learn how to program a website, slice PSDs, etc (there are some other good books here on Sitepoint that do help with those). Sexy Web Design is aimed at people looking not only to improve their design processes but also to improve on your knowledge in creating structure, mood, usability and more into your layouts. After reading Elliot's book I worked on a new website template for a client and the difference was major! Thanks to Elliot for helping me to bring sexy back!"
, 26 Mar 2009 "Great book! Very informative and I feel like I've learned a lot. It's reaffirmed some of the things I just did, but didn't know why. The only thing that bothered me was the referenced pictures were always a page-flip away. Not a big deal, and certainly doesn't detract from the book! Great book SitePoint and Elliot."
, 24 Mar 2009 "I am a freelancer for the past 8 years. I just read the first 50 pages and felt like i was looking at a mirror. Coz Burke nailed it very clearly about the facts of freelancing which i have gone through all these years. I am excited to read more..."
, 26 Mar 2009 "A very easy to read book that is NOT just for the web industry freelancers.
It contains many thought provoking topics that you may not have thought about as you enter or continue as a freelancer.
I didn't necessarily pass the freelancer test but still continue on my freelance path with the support of this book.
Of all the business books I have read I would definitely recommend this to someone thinking of going into freelancing and it is a book that I keep and refer back to along the often bumpy ride.
Best of all its for me is that it is written by an Australian."
