Confirmed typos in the September 2005 First Edition:

  • p.83 paragraph 3
You shouldn't actually insert the RSS button image until you are instructed to do so in Chapter 6. This paragraph should simply read: "First, type Recent Tutorials; make this into a level two heading using the Property Inspector, and hit Enter once again."
  • p.125
"Layout Block..." should be "CSS Layout..."
  • p.142 step 2
"Left padding" should be "left margin" in this step, although applying padding instead of margin will not affect the final display of the page.
  • p.146 paragraph 2
    "#header p" should be "#controls p"
  • p.151 code listing
Some of the code presented in this listing—specifically, the rules for #content and #nav—doesn't belong here, as it isn't presented until later in this chapter.
  • p.156 paragraph 2
Though correct, it is not clear due to the word wrapping on this page that the selector should be #content .homepage-box (with a space before the .).
  • p.159 paragraph 4
"View > Visual Aids > Layout Block Background" should be "View > Visual Aids > CSS Layout Backgrounds".
  • p.168 paragraph 1
The first line of this page should read "In the Box category..."
  • p.174 paragraph 3 (step 3)
This step should end with "and Vertical position to 50%". Dreamweaver will let you select 'center' for the vertical position, as the step originally instructs you to do, but it is in fact illegal to mix numerical measurements like '4px' and position constants like 'center' when specifying the background position. Set Vertical position to 50% instead to achieve the same effect while complying with the CSS specification.
  • p.213 paragraph 2
In the second last line, "unable" should be "able".
  • p.299 paragraph 4
The fifth line of this paragraph should read "remove text-regular.css from the list of style sheets to be hidden at design time."
