I want to add something important about your initial debate. I don’t know about internal sales taxes in the US, but VAT IS added by Amazon already. When you buy from Denmark, VAT of 25% is added to your purchase.
It also makes it easier for tax authorities to handle Amazon packages, and obviously gets it delivered much faster.

After listening to the comments on Amazon affiliates and state taxes, I am so glad we don’t have convoluted systems like that in Australia – sales tax/GST consistent right across the country. Makes this so much easier.
Also, host spotlights were good – keep it going
