Oh Brother, ;-) Emoticon Trademarked

The Russian Patent Agency has apparently granted a trademark in that country to a mobile phone advertising company for the winking emoticon – ;-). The owner of the business is saying commercial use of the emoticon in Russia will cost tens of thousands of dollars. We’d frown, but that emoticon is trademarked in the US.
