OT: How Cool Are Your Flash Projects?

by sgrosvenor

I tend to work from home and office quite a lot, and transfer my IDE drive between the two places on a daily basis. My old 5.25″ IDE caddy was seriously in need of replacing due to damage and the fact the internal fan had packed in, so I replaced it with the beastie shown above.

Thermal alarms, temperature monitor and a good sized fan ensures my data and Flash projects remain at a nice consistent temperature, and it looks pretty damn cool too! Way off topic, but thought I’d share it with you

If you don’t toot your own horn who will? Have we heard of any of these “kick a***” apps? I’d like to see a kick ass flash app, seems they’re few and far between.

  4. Ok, so since this topic has strayed, I’m gonna jump in w/ some braggin. I know you weren’t asking me, but what the hay? I’m right now working on a Flash / XML site for a client. Content is all XML / XHTML driven. I made an XML and HTML parser in Flash to create a dynamic menu structure and display the pages.

    The site:

    The XML:

Pretty cool if I say so myself :)

  5. These 2.5 in USB laptop caddies are great. I now get various people to use these to make backups. Unlike tapes you don’t have to wait for the seeking to occur, likewise they do wear out as easily and are more cost effective.

On top of this you don’t need any drivers in Linux 2.4, Windows NT5.x, or OS X. I use all of these OS’es on a regular basis to do web projects, and likewise doing some computer technician work I find it useful as you can boot from these. When I was still at school I used to use these to download on to as well.

  6. Yea your files may be cool, but these ones are on lock.
