SitePoint Design Contests Named 2nd best Web Site in Australia
Thursday 27th September, 2007
The SitePoint Design Contests web site http://contests.sitepoint.com has taken out second prize in the McFarlane awards of 2007.
Members from the SitePoint development team, Andrew Krespanis and Lucas Chan, accepted the Highly Commended award from Dean Jackson, a representative of the W3C office of Australia.
The McFarlane Prize (http://www.mcfarlaneprize.com/) was established in 2006 to recognise excellence in Australian web design, and to honour the memory of Nigel McFarlane, a Melbourne-based web pioneer who worked as technical editor on several books for SitePoint. The Prize rewards excellence in web design in the broadest sense, from the appropriate use of technology, to design aesthetics, to its impact more broadly on the web.
According to the organizers of the award “the quality of entrants this year was extraordinary, in particular in terms of best practice in coding, accessibility and development generally”.
Join us in congratulating the entire SitePoint development team on such an impressive achievement.
