O’Reilly to distribute SitePoint Books!

SitePoint Pty. Ltd. (sitepoint.com), provider of fun, practical, and easy-to-understand books for Web professionals today announced an exclusive deal with O'Reilly Media, Inc. (oreilly.com) for the retail sale and distribution of its print books throughout North America.
O’Reilly, the second-largest technical book publisher in America, will distribute SitePoint Books to over 3,000 bookstores, including major retail accounts such as Barnes & Noble, Borders, and Walden Bookstores.
This is SitePoint's first foray into retail. The publisher’s Website (sitepoint.com), which attracts over 1.8 million aspiring Web developers and designers each month, and is ranked 1,045 in the world (source: alexa.com).
Commenting on the deal today, SitePoint Managing Director and Co-founder Mark Harbottle said, “This will not only benefit our customers by providing them with convenience and freedom of choice, it will also significantly increase brand awareness of SitePoint by supplementing our online sales with bricks-and-mortar distribution.”
When asked about the alliance with SitePoint, O'Reilly COO Laura Baldwin said, "We're extremely pleased to be working with SitePoint. Their grassroots approach to content development, community building, and marketing impressed us, as did their ability to succeed in an extremely tough marketplace. We're looking forward to working with SitePoint and exploring many other exciting opportunities with them in the future."
SitePoint books will be available in North American bookstores as early as October 2004.
