About This Job

We are seeking a highly professional, energetic and ambitious Advertising Sales Manager with 3+ years of advertising sales experience to join our team. This position will be responsible for online advertising sales, including prospecting, consistent contact with clients and potential clients, and negotiating contracts with clients.

The successful candidate will be a client-focused, driven, self-motivated individual who thrives under pressure and enjoys working hands-on in a fast-paced environment. Proven success in prospecting clients, building relationships, growing sales and closing deals a must.

Key Responsibilities

  • Achieve/exceed assigned revenue objectives selling web advertising.
  • Prospect, contact, qualify and close current and prospective customers.
  • Quickly develop a good understanding of the SitePoint business.
  • Develop high quality proposals and insertion orders for clients.
  • Maintain a solid relationship with existing clients.
  • Make sure ads run as scheduled.
  • Represent the company at client meetings.
  • Participate in internal status meetings.

Job Requirements

  • 3+ years of advertising sales experience
  • Must be Internet savvy
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proactive and positive work ethic
  • Strong negotiating skills
  • Innovator, highly creative problem-solver (i.e., can usually find a better way)
  • Confident and credible, trustworthy, detail-oriented
  • Diplomatic (i.e., offers alternate points of view without condescension)
  • Ability to handle accounts independently and work as part of a team
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills
  • Knowledge of the web developer market and community a big plus!

Research & Analysis:

  • Evaluate technical articles and draft book chapters to determine the suitability of prospective authors.
  • Research and present new ideas for potential content.

Other Duties:

  • Perform other duties as required to guarantee the editorial quality of SitePoint's technical publications is maintained.
